The Intern Diaries – Learning Floral Design

Author: Kimberley Cathline de Rodríguez

Dear Diary,
Victoria has just begun to teach me about floral design. I am so enjoying it already! Learning about floral design and décor is really where my interest lies and so I have been absorbing everything. I have been learning about floral care and flower preparation for a number of varieties.

I have been introduced to floral tape and floral wire and have learned how to hand wire different types of flowers as well as how to make simple boutonnieres.

I created my very first bouquet as homework from Victoria using hand wiring.

I also had the chance to make the boutonniere for the Groom for two recent weddings.

I also was given the opportunity to create two of the Bridesmaids bouquets for a recent wedding. So exciting!

I am looking forward to learning more about floral design and developing my skills in this area!
