DIY Project 1 – Framed Alice in Wonderland Characters

These framed illustrations can help the attendants get a feel for what the characters look like and how they are portrayed in the movie.

Items you will need:

Picture frames

Printer

White cardstock

Cutting board

Scissors

Step 1:

Choose an assortment of picture frames. Above displays 2 – 4”x4”,1 – “6×4” and 3 4”x6” frames.

Step 2:

Print out illustrations on white card-stock.

Step 3:

Cut each illustration with a cutting board to fit the desired frame.

Step 4:

Insert the illustrations into each of the frames.

DIY Project 2 – Wrapped Boxes

These wrapped boxes can be used as a platform for selected items in your display. They can add height and dimension to your display so that each piece can be seen.

Items you will need:

Empty boxes

Gift wrapping paper of your choice

Scissors

Scotch tape

Step 1:

Select small to medium empty boxes.

Step 2:

Use wrapping paper of your choice.

Step 3:

Wrap each box as if it were a present.

DIY Project 3 – Hanging Keys

These keys go along with the details from the movie when Alice uses one to open the door to Wonderland. Since these items are small, they can be hung from a jewelry stand or any other object with arms so that they are visible.

Items you will need:

Old keys

Hemp Cord

Scissors

Step 1:

Choose an assortment of keys.

Step 2:

Cut pieces of hemp for each key, 6-8” long.

Step 3:

Take one key and loop a piece of hemp through the top and repeat this step for each key.

Step 4:

Tie a knot at the top of each loop so that the key hangs at the bottom.

Step 5:

Hang your keys from your choice of object.

DIY Project 4 – Drink Me Potion

The Drink Me Potion is a fun little detail taken from the movie to give the display a more realistic feel.

Items you will need:

Glass bottle

Blue and green food coloring

White and blue card-stock

Color printer

Single hole punch

Cutting board

Scissors

Tape or glue stick

Hemp Cord

Step 1:

Pour water into a glass bottle.

Step 2:

Mix one drop of blue and green food coloring to the water. You can strengthen or dilute the color as much as you want by adding either more food coloring or more water.

Step 3:

Design and print a “Drink me” tag on white card-stock and cut the tag to 2”x 3” with the cutting board.

Step 4:

Cut the blue card-stock ½” larger than the white tag (dimensions: 2.5”x 3.5”) with the cutting board.

Step 5:

Before adhering the printed tag to the blue card-stock, punch a single hole in the upper left corner of the blue card-stock.

Step 6:

Cut a piece of hemp about six inches long and string the hemp through the upper left hole.

Step 7:

Adhere the printed tag to the blue card-stock.

Step 8:

Tie the tag to the bottle.

DIY Project 5 – Queen of Hearts Food Labels

These Queen of Hearts Food Labels can be placed in front of each dish to add color and continue with the theme of Alice in Wonderland.

Items you will need:

White and blue card-stock

Color printer

Cutting board

Tape or glue stick

Step 1:

Design and print each food label based on your planned menu.

Step 2:

Cut each printed label (3.5”x 4.5”) with the cutting board.

Step 3:

Cut the blue card-stock an inch larger than the printed label (4”x 5”) with the cutting board.

Step 4:

Tape or glue each printed label to the blue card-stock.
