The New England Laborers' / Cranston Public Schools Construction & Career Academy

The New England Laborers’ made headlines in 2001 by partnering with a public school district to open the first -- grade 9-12 Charter School with a focus on Construction Careers.   With an emphasis on project based learning our school broke new ground with inventive new programs and changed the dynamic of the classroom.  In 2003, LiUNA General Secretary and New England Regional Manager, Armand E. Sabitoni was named Engineering News Record’s – Newsmaker of the Year.

Our tenth class of seniors graduated in June 2013.  Our Local 271 in Providence, RI sponsors this school and holds their monthly meetings at the school.
