Hair Loss: Prevention, Treatment, Solution

My response to "Will Smith, Oscars 2022"

"Speaking as a Licensed Cosmetologist of twenty-five years "hair loss" is a very sensitive subject and should always be addressed professionally. I have lost no respect for Will Smith." facebook.com/stephaniaduncan

1. WHAT is the meaning of Hair Loss?

Hair loss occurs when new hair does not replace the hair that has fallen out. Hair loss is typically related to one or more of the following factors: Family history(hereditary). The most common cause of hair loss is a hereditary condition that happens with aging. Most common types are male or female baldness, alopecia areata, telogen effluvium, anagen effluvium.

2. WHO do you seek professional help from a Cosmetologist, Dermatologist or Nutritionist?

I believe the Cosmetologist, Dermatologist and Nutritionist plays a huge role in hair loss prevention, treatment and solutions. Cosmetologist's are referred to as "Hair Doctors!" In my twenty-five year Cosmetology career, "Yes, I have witnessed clients with hair loss." Post Covid19 Pandemic, I am witnessing more clients experiencing hair loss. My response to clients with hair loss stems from the H.A.I.R. creed. I respond with honesty, accountability, integrity and respect as a Cosmetologist. As a Cosmetologist, I offer 1:1 salon services (by appointments only) and give my professional product recomendations. After the salon visit I recommend clients drink plenty of water, improve their diet, add supplements, get some rest and exercise. But for further hair loss prevention, treatment and solutions I recommend clients seek a dermatologist or nutritionist.

3. WHY, is a Cosmetologist referred to as a "Hair Doctor?

5Star Review... "Stephania not only does hair and does it well, she lifts your spirits as well. I not only look good, I feel beautiful and confident. -Patricia"

I believe many are called but few are chosen. I view cosmetology as my education and "The Hair Doctor" as how and why I serve. I Corinthians 11:15 speaks of a woman's hair being her crown and her glory. Hair loss impacts more than a person's physical appearance. Hair loss also impacts a person's emotional, mental and social well being. If a client or the person reading this blog is experincing hair loss and your emotional, mental or social well being is impacted more than you can bare, please seek professional counseling.
