I recently started training with Lisa in January and I am already seeing results I'm officially hooked! she offers a variety of personal training as well as the boot camp which is what I've been attending. Her boot camp is m-w-f at 630 am and it is so worth it. I don't even need an alarm to wake up. Lasting only a hour a day, Lisa incorporates warm ups and stretching as we'll and indoor outdoor activity, obstacle courses, light weight training, drills as well as TRX. She responded to my inquiry email in a very timely fashion and was very flexible in working with my crazy schedule. The workouts are effective without being torturous. After the first month, I was in the best shape of my entire life! Lisa checks in on me daily, sending workouts and helping me keep tabs on my eating. I also joined her boot camps that were fun and convenient, and most of all effective! I got the body I wanted without the surgery.   • "I've been working out regularly with Lisa since January 2011. I've lost 15 lbs. which I didn't think was that noticeable, but I've received so many compliments on how well I'm looking. At first I didn't think it was working and I was ready to give up. After about six months is when I began to notice a change in the way my clothes were fitting and how my body looked. I am more conscience of what I eat and there are even days I workout without Lisa (AMAZING!!!) This is the most fit I've felt probably since being a teenager. I still have work to do and I hope to keep working at it. Consistency is the key. I've enjoyed working with Lisa. She is personable, gets to know you and cares about you.   • "After several times signing up for gym memberships and cancelling & at home "work out" sessions, I finally decided to sign up for Better Body one on one sessions then eventually the small group sessions and finally the bootcamp when they were held
    at Lake Merritt. Not that I am an obese person but I never realized how unfit I was and how horrible my eating habits were until working with Lisa. The environment that she creates along with her other clients makes working out an enjoyable experience believe it or not. She attracts a great group of people. I tried the working out alone thing again, but I recently re committed to working out with Better Body now located in a facility in downtown Oakland and I have been feeling better than ever. She is a great motivation and makes you feel good about yourself, especially when you remain consistent and do your part when she is not in your presence (believe me she can tell when you haven't been doing your homework). I actually look forward to working out now,I missed this feeling and its worth every dollar."

  • "I've tried a few of the gyms and fitness centers in the area and have been disappointed with the bad attitudes and egos from the trainers. Then I came across Better Body and Lisa and only the complete opposite is true. Lisa is amazing- she's inspiring, she's supportive and she pushes you like your goals are her own. Lisa provides guidance and tips not only during her well-planned, never-the-same, and crazy sweat inducing workouts but she also checks in with me in between sessions and on the weekends. She really cares.
    Which doesn't mean she doesn't push me and hold me accountable to eating better and exercising better- each time she encourages improvement and that's what's kept me coming to her for almost a year now. She makes it about your body, but better each time. Whether it's TRX, running the stairs, boxing, sprints on the treadmill, push ups and chin ups (ughhh), she helps each Better Body member improve and feel good. While sweating and hurting, not easy. The morning bootcamps are awesome and the group of people are just as supportive and encouraging which is definitely a must at 6:30am. Can't say enough, she's as good as she looks."

There is no attitude, no putting you down, no pushing to the point where you end up in the hospital, her approach focused and she has a grounded holistic approach. Don't get me wrong, she's no pushover, no, no, no, as she gets to know you, Lisa will push you because she knows your aren't giving it your all and you'll thank her for not letting you be lazy during your workout session. This is due in part to the fact that I work for a company that provides onsite trainers and a fully equipped gym as a benefit to its employees. I couldn't justify paying for that extra expense no matter how effective Lisa proves to be. However, even with this awesome offering at my disposal, I wasn't seeing the results I wanted. So at the end of December I decided to sign up with Better Body and begin my fitness journey towards a better me. & I must say consistency does pay off. Better Body boot camps + her nutritional advice + encouragement + motivation + positive energy = a healthier, stronger, and happier me! Don't get me wrong, getting up at 6am is a grueling task, but Lisa makes it worth it.   • "A little about my 'get fit' journey and how Lisa has been the absolute best throughout this process.
    I have been an active gym member for about a year and a half with no real idea what area of the body to target. I knew it was time to combine my good eating habits with exercise but I didn't know what type of results I was looking to gain, ie - weight loss, toning, decreasing fat percentage, more energy or just to feel better about myself. Lisa made all of this happen for me in a short amount of time. And just for some perspective, prior to Lisa, I already had 2 trainers who couldn't get me to stay committed to their workout plan.
    What I enjoy most about Lisa is her versatility as a trainer. She doesn't just know about the body, but she is so in-tuned with overall health and wellness. She encourages her clients to eat healthy by checking in a few times a week, emails smoothie recipes AND vacation workout plans if you'll be away from her for some time. The amount of time that Lisa spends on honing her craft is just remarkable. Because of her knowledge and her attentiveness, I see Lisa 3x/week at her M/W/F morning bootcamps.The bootcamps are 1hr and they are mixed in with TRX, Sprints, Weights, Core training, boxing etc and you never feel like you're doing the same thing each time. Although I go regularly, I still sweat and NEVER feel like I've conquered her workouts. ha. Which is great for me. I am leaner, and stronger because of this type of training and have ran 2 5k races in a matter of months. It has become a lifestyle for me.
    I AM ADDICTED and I am addicted because she makes this easy for me.
