I love fresh coconut, and I’m also impressed by the power packed nutrition in pomegranate, so this creamy smoothie was a no-brainer. Not only are pomegranates good for your heart and blood vessels but they have been shown to inhibit breast cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer, leukemia and to prevent vascular changes that promote tumor growth.

Health Benefits of the Pomegranate:

Most powerful anti-oxidant of all fruits
Potent anti-cancer and immune supporting effects
Inhibits abnormal platelet aggregation that could cause heart attacks and strokes
Lowers cholesterol and other cardiac risk factors
Lowers blood pressure
May have benefits to relieve or protect against depression and osteoporosis
Many studies show that the pomegranate is one of the most powerful, nutrient dense foods for overall good health. Especially when in season, this is one Better Body fruit that you can’t afford to exclude from your diet!
{makes about 16 ounces}

Ingredients:

1 cup pomegranate seeds
1/2 cup light coconut milk
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 cup chopped greens, I used romaine, but baby spinach or kale would work great handful of ice
